It sounds crazy, but if you have enough shoulder strength, biceps and stamina, you can probably become a true one person camera crew. Think about it, once upon a day, to carry filming equipment, tripod, tapes, editing equipment, monitors, etc... meant carrying two to three large trunks weighing in at about 200 Kg. I know because I've done it enough times. I'll post a picture when I figure out if we can post pictures in this forum ) But now, you can literally pack it all up into a 30 Kg bundle. I know because that's what I'm doing now. You can take a high definition camera from Panasonic, like the HVX200. Add to that a 17-inch macbook pro, a graphite tripod, a single soft lamp, some tapes or P2 cards, a couple of wireless microphones, a mini 7-inch monitor, a few wires and power adapters and you're good to go. The ideal, I agree, is two people, but with one, it's doable.
Curious to find out if any of you travel with any video equipment, even a consumer or prosumer camera? Or, of course, if you're pros, what you travel with.
